PNG & full-page capture guide
Choose element, region or full-page PNG capture and understand the limits of long-page screenshots.
Choose a capture mode#
Element PNG captures the selected element. Region PNG captures a rectangle in the current viewport. Full-page PNG stitches tiles of the currently loaded document. Region mode does not scroll to expand its selection.
Capture a long page#
- Load the content you need into the page first.
- Choose full-page PNG export.
- Keep the tab in front until tiled capture completes.
- Inspect the PNG for seams, images and missing content.
The capture flow temporarily hides extension overlays and some fixed/sticky page elements, then restores their styles and the original scroll position.
Check these cases carefully#
Infinite-scroll content is not loaded automatically. Independent internal scroll containers are not expanded. Cross-origin images, video, canvas and protected browser pages may be incomplete or unavailable.
Very long pages require more time and memory. Start with a small scope and use Markdown if visual capture is unavailable.
About the homepage demo#
The homepage downloads a fixed example PNG generated by the website. It is not a screenshot of your current webpage. Install the extension to capture actual elements, regions and pages.
